Up And Down Converter Setup

updown chipOn supported hardware, Drastic software provides control of any up or down video conversion.  This can be set up in real time from the QuickClipXO, MediaNXS, VTRIF, DTReplay or dTouch interfaces.  The parameters and advanced settings in the configurations are provided below.

This mostly applies to Titan Series, (legacy) DTV-DECK, (legacy) VVW Series DDRs, (legacy) QuickClip Pro and MediaNXS software installs. Currently, the only setup for accessing the hardware down and up converters on AJA and Bluefish444 series video boards is via the registry. When the SDI 2 exists, but is not used (for 4:2:2:4 or dual-link), it will also output the monitor signal in the same video standard as the analog output. Please note, most hardware only supports basic conversions between formats of similar frame rates. This means that:

1080p25 <> 1080i50 <> 720p50 <> PAL = OK
1080p30 <> 1080i60 <> 720p60 <> NTSC = OK
1080p29 <> 1080i59 <> 720p59 <> NTSC = OK
1080psf24 = HD ONLY
1080psf23 = HD ONLY
No translation available between NTSC and PAL frame rates

NOTE:  The version 3 software uses the registry area HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Drastic Technologies\ for these settings.

All these values are stored in the key
